Accelerated Reader
The Accelerated Reader Program combines the best of children's literature with computer software that tests comprehension. There are three steps that provide the foundation for self-paced, individualized reading.
1) Select a book-Students select an AR book based on their reading and interest level. Titles range from first grade to middle school reading levels. Books that are AR will be labeled with a sticker.
2) Read the book-Please make sure the student reads the book(s) thoroughly before taking a test.
3) Take a test-Students will take either a 5, 10, or 20 question multiple-choice test. After completion of the test, students will be given a score and awarded points based on the number of questions answered correctly. Parents may view their child’s record/progress from their teacher or from the Home Connect page. Please see that information below.
