Welcome, Mr. Tartera!

Altruria Elementary is pleased to announce that Taylor Tartera has been selected as the new Assistant Principal at Altruria Elementary School beginning with the 2020-2021 school year.

Mr. Tartera received his Master’s degree in Teaching from Christian Brothers University and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Memphis, where he is pursuing his Doctoral degree in Leadership and Policy. Mr. Tartera has spent the past seven years in a local charter school where he has held multiple roles including teacher, team lead, instructional coach with emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction, and his most recent position as Lower School Dean. Taylor is thrilled to continue his educational journey at Altruria Elementary School, where he will work alongside the administration as Assistant Principal. Mr. Tartera returns to the Bartlett community after attending Appling Middle and graduating from Bartlett High and is ready to give back to his hometown. You can find him spending his free time volunteering as a youth advisor at his home church, enjoying the city, and spending time with his wife and three Boston terriers.

Ms. Marva Johnson, Principal at Altruria Elementary School, stated, “I am so excited to have Mr. Tartera as a part of the Administrative team. Being a Bartlett native, he brings a community perspective that is part of our philosophy. Mr. Tartera is truly going to be an asset to Altruria.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will allow our “amazing” school to become even GREATER! Mr. Tartera is so excited to become an ALTRURIA TIGER and together we are looking forward to an outstanding year together.

Kindergarten and New Student Registration for 2020-21

Registration will begin April 27 and will be completed remotely. All new students must sign up for a date and time in order to start the registration process.
Sign up for a time when Ms. Gingery can call you and go over your Registration paperwork. She will email you the Enrollment Data Form before your call and will need that and all required documents emailed to her at before your appointment.
You will need to email me copies of the following information:
Certified Birth Certificate (not mother's copy)
Social Security Card
TN Immunization Certificate and Proof of Physical
Custody or Guardianship paperwork - if needed
I will also need: TWO Proofs of Residency
MLGW Current (NOT Bartlett Water)
Mortgage Statement
Lease or Rental Agreement

2020 - 2021 Registration coming soon!

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all registration activity will take place remotely at this time. Bartlett City Schools will provide in-person assistance to those who require it once it has been safe to do so.
Your snapcode will be e-mailed by the end of the day on May 4. If you cannot find the e-mail, please check your junk or spam folder first. You may contact Cindy Gingery at school if you need more assistance. Registration for returning students should be completed by May 31, 2020.
Before you proceed with the on-line registration process, you must have all your documentation scanned and ready to upload (i.e. two current proofs of residency, shared residency affidavit, parenting plan). Please carefully check all spelling, capitalization, and punctuation as it is entered. All required fields, which are specified, must be completed before the form may be submitted. Teacher Request Deadline Approaching!

If you would still like to request a teacher for the 2020-2021 school year, you can still do that.  Please email your request to Ms. Johnson at and carbon copy Mrs. Lawson at  Remember to list three choices for teachers.  These requests must be submitted by April 24, 2020.  There will be no exceptions to the April 24th deadline.
