Welcome, Mr. Tartera!

Altruria Elementary is pleased to announce that Taylor Tartera has been selected as the new Assistant Principal at Altruria Elementary School beginning with the 2020-2021 school year.

Mr. Tartera received his Master’s degree in Teaching from Christian Brothers University and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Memphis, where he is pursuing his Doctoral degree in Leadership and Policy. Mr. Tartera has spent the past seven years in a local charter school where he has held multiple roles including teacher, team lead, instructional coach with emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction, and his most recent position as Lower School Dean. Taylor is thrilled to continue his educational journey at Altruria Elementary School, where he will work alongside the administration as Assistant Principal. Mr. Tartera returns to the Bartlett community after attending Appling Middle and graduating from Bartlett High and is ready to give back to his hometown. You can find him spending his free time volunteering as a youth advisor at his home church, enjoying the city, and spending time with his wife and three Boston terriers.

Ms. Marva Johnson, Principal at Altruria Elementary School, stated, “I am so excited to have Mr. Tartera as a part of the Administrative team. Being a Bartlett native, he brings a community perspective that is part of our philosophy. Mr. Tartera is truly going to be an asset to Altruria.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will allow our “amazing” school to become even GREATER! Mr. Tartera is so excited to become an ALTRURIA TIGER and together we are looking forward to an outstanding year together.
