PARENT TIPS FOR IMPROVING COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR CHILD:
* Slow down rate of speech and model (slightly over exaggerate) speech sounds your child may be working on.
* When talking with your child, use descriptive words, such as curly red hair.
* Don’t criticize grammar mistakes; instead, model good grammar.
* Refrain from interrupting you child during his speech attempts, or telling him to slow down or start over, as that may break up his speech fluency.
